DURATION: 12 months
Faced with: Shortage of sports services for disability; need to develop the skills of sports associations to deal with disabilities; need to explore the relationship between sport, disability and quality of life.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES: The objective was to define guidelines for new associations that intend to promote sports activities for the disabled, thus promoting the sport itself. The disabled people themselves were involved in the sporting activity, together with their families and technicians and operators working with them, to outline operational guidelines useful to the associations that intend to deal with them. A survey was also carried out on the quality of life of people with disabilities who practice sports and that of their caregivers, aimed at exploring the effects of sports on the lives of people with disabilities.
RESEARCH PHASES: 1) Cognitive survey on the relationship between sport, disability and quality of life 2) realization of Work Tables at the sports associations that deal with disabilities, with the participation of disabled people, families, operators, technicians 3) Joint Construction of Guidelines aimed at sports associations that intend to deal with disability
